My Year in 9M SST

 In social studies we started off with learning about the Treaty Of Waitangi then went on to studying About how and why people have/had top migrate. After that going on to term 3 we learnt about different cultures and how they are different from ours and lastly we are being Globally minded and looking into all the ways our world and people are affected by globalization.

I learnt lots of new things relating to all units and had lots of fun especially going on the trip to Waitangi I'm Also looking forward to what next year bring me in 10 Social Studies

Key terms about culture

  So in social studies we are learning about culture and some key terms about culture. So here is my mind map on culture.

Consumerism

This week we viewed a video in our Social Studies class called “Consumerism”. Here are some of the main messages I got from this video:

One was just how much we are destroying the earth with all the new and different technology products that we as humans are creating/producing.

Another message is the we're throwing a lot of stuff out into landfill instead of reusing or recycling.

And also that the advertisement these days draw us into buying all the new products

Reflection and Goal setting for Term 4

Kia Ora, we have been reflecting upon last term. This is my reflection and goal setting for Maths.

1. One thing I wish I did differently in Term 3 was not get so distracted and to focus and try harder

2. One thing I was proud of in Term 3 was that I went to Mathex and that passed my tests.

3. My main focus this term is to keep all of my work up to high standards and prepare for the end of year test and then going on to year 10

4. When I need help I know to now ask my teacher and my peers and also to look back on my previous work.

5. At the end of this term, I want to be able to say that I achieved my goal of finishing most of my work to high merit or excellence standards

 

Trm3 wk8 in Social Studies

 This week in social studies I've just been working on my "How does Chinese culture differ from ours". Its a slide on our Hapara workspace under the "understanding different cultures" section. On this slide it has a tittle and all we have to do is type in our culture that were doing. And it has a few slides with a some words as the title, for example on one of the slides it says Music and Art and then we talk about our chosen culture music and art and how its different to our culture.
